Rock climbing. Mountain biking. Snow boarding...
Not the typical skill sets one expects when talking about missionaries, unless of course we're talking about X-TREME MISSIONARIES!
GBIM staffer in Japan, Ralph Justiniano, an extreme biker in his own right, sent these paragraphs about a cool opportunity to serve as an extreme missionary. Ralph writes:
"In the mountains west of Tokyo, there's a vibrant outreach to youth through extreme sports. It's called Northstar Outdoor Adventures. Northstar's Director in Japan is Dan Junker. He and wife Tina are from the Grace Fellowship GBC in Hawaii. They have been friends of ours for many years.
"Having like passions and vision, we've begun a partnership between GBIM-Japan and Northstar, and are ministering together to see a disciple-making movement launched.
"GBIM is in search of interns who are both passionate for missions and are adept at extreme sports ~ mountain biking, mountain climbing, snow boarding, etc.
"Please check out their website at www.ridenorthstar.com and pray! (While on their website be sure to check out the photo page.) Maybe God is calling you to join us and pioneer with us in this new ministry!"
Of course, the most important qualification for an X-treme Missionary is not just abilities in extreme sports, but an X-TREME love for Jesus and an over-the-edge passion to share Him with others.
