WEEK #2 (Dec. 7 - Dec. 13)
Dec. 12, Tuesday
Joy is what discribes the look on the children's faces as they received their quilted blanket from the team ladies. The children in the Plama hope and charity school each received one. Thanks ladies from Ashland GBC for your time sewing.

Dec. 11, Monday
Monday evening was spent in the old missions station in Yaloke. It was sad to see the destruction from the upheaval in the country in 2002. But we know God is still in control. The high school orphan also received a quilt from the ladies on the team.

Dec. 9, Saturday
Doug writes:
Today the men took the benches they built and repaired back out to Yembi chuch. While there, the men also put up a grass skirting around a out building that will be used for a school for the orphans. While there, the men enjoyed the company of about 50 small children that were such a blessing to be around. The men just spent time playing and having fun with the kids. I think the men enjoyed it more than the kids did, these kids are so sweet and lovable.
We also had some free time to go around the city, so we stop at the central market downtown. It was so neat to see all the different things they have here in Africa.

Dr. Augustin Hibaile with wife, Marie-Helene, their children,
in their home.
We were honored to be guest in Dr. Hibaile’s house today. We spent time with him and his family. They treated us to a wonderful meal and they shared there hearts for the Lord and told us about their ministry here.
Dec. 7, Friday
It was such a blessing for Tim, and the guys to complete the roofs by the end of the first week. They worked so hard and steadily to get them done.

The Lord blessed us w/good weather. I really felt blessed when I worked w/the children, first with checking their heads for scabies and lice, then washing the heads with soap and water and applying ointment. We sent ointment and a bar of soap home with some of the kids with checked. Karen Smith and worked together on this.

We then I had fun coloring with the children. I am overwhelmed by how happy and joyful they are though they have so little. They are so very polite and have fun practicing their English by saying "thank you." Ginger said this was the second time they have colored since September. These pictures will be sent to the orphan's sponsors in North America.
The guys are all tired and exhausted from all the work they did. Preparations are started for our trip to Pama, the second Hand-in-Hand partner of the Ashland GBC. On this trip we will get to hand the quilts that women at our church (Ashland GBC) made for our orphans at Pama. ~ Judy Fair
